Our Long Gallery is a stunning example of Jacobean architecture - as history dictates, it is a long, narrow room with a high ceiling. As with our Gallery, they were often located on the upper floor of the great houses of the time and they served several purposes: for entertaining guests, taking exercise in the form of walking when the weather was inclement and for displaying art collections.

We make no excuse for showing you several similar pictures of our lovely Long Gallery - we're very proud of it! Here you’ll find hand-carved oak panelling and a beautifully ornate ceiling with original chandeliers demonstrating the fine quality of the Jacobean workmanship.
